INTEGRATED HSE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Edisi May - June 2019
Organizations need to manage expectations from stakeholders in managing Health, Safety and Environment. The most referred international standards are ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018. Organizations need expert’s assistance in integrating several HSE requirements that they need to meet in order to implement them efficiently and effectively.
ISO 14001:2015
ISO 14001:2015 specifies the requirements for an environmental management system that an organization can use to enhance its environmental performance, to manage its environmental responsibilities in a systematic manner to achieve the intended outcomes which provide value for the environment, the organization itself and interested parties.
ISO 45001:2018
The main change from OHSAS 18001 is that ISO 45001 concentrates on the interaction between an organization and its business environment while OHSAS 18001 was focused on managing OH&S hazards and other internal issues. But the standards also diverge in many other ways:
ISO 45001 is process-based – OHSAS 18001 is procedure-based
ISO 45001 is dynamic in all clauses – OHSAS 18001 is not
ISO 45001 considers both risk and opportunities – OHSAS 18001 deals exclusively with risk
ISO 45001 includes the views of interested parties – OHSAS 18001 does not
